e-News - March 31, 2010
Pastors: Jim Whedbee,
Don Hanshew, Melissa Smith
Pastor's Message
I did not have the privilege of hearing Melissa’s sermon Sunday, but “word on the street” (or at least in the halls) is that it was a very powerful, moving Sunday. I was blessed, though, to hear Don’s sermon. As I told him, if I hadn’t been a Christian when I came in Sunday morning, “I would have been one when I left.” Both these preachers delivered sermons that rocked, that is rocked us to the core of our being as we looked at the crucifixion – the hows, whys, and wherefores of it.
Many of you have expressed your appreciation for our sermon series through Lent on “Twenty-four Hours That Changed the World.” We hope and pray you were able to feel and live into the events from the Last Supper through the crucifixion. Now, we hope and pray you will worship with us this Sunday, the highest Christian festival day of the year. Easter is the day of all days, the Sunday of all Sundays, the triumphal celebration of our Lord’s resurrection! We don’t have the lilies and brass every Sunday, but we do celebrate the resurrection every Sunday. Easter, though, is the reason for all the other Sundays. Please worship with us if you possibly can!
-- Jim
