Pastor's Message
Having worshiped together now three Sundays during the season of Lent, we are on the “home stretch” as we look at the “Twenty-four Hours That Changed The World.” For those of you who have been able to study and/or worship with us around this theme, we pray you are finding yourself understanding more fully the events of those hours. And through that understanding (open minds) may it be that you are more closely able to experience the meaning of that for your life (open hearts). As you find yourself drawn closer to the Lord, we also hope you are eager to invite others (open doors) to be in this journey of faith with us.
Remind those whom you invite that we have three worship opportunities on Sunday mornings: 8:30 and 11:00 (traditional) and 11:00 (contemporary). Many of our folks have commented on how helpful this particular worship emphasis has been, and we hope others will find it to be a time for worship and growth in faith.
Remember, please, other worship opportunities before Easter: Maundy Thursday Service of Holy Communion (April 1) at 7:30 p.m. and Good Friday Tenebrae Service (April 2) at 7:30 p.m.

Bring Your Cans!
Please help fill the tomb by March 28th.
1,833 cans still needed to make the goal of 3,000 total cans.
Help the children fill their Red Wagons with Cans during Sunday School!

The Tomb will be emptied on Palm Sunday at 3 p.m. Meet in the Narthex to help sort, count and deliver the cans to the Fountain City Ministry Center.
Sunday the Tomb will be empty...to celebrate Jesus is alive.

Interfaith Hospitality Network
FCUMC will be hosting families through the Interfaith Hospitality Network(IHN) during the following weeks this year:
March 28 - April 4
June 27 - July 4
September 12 - 19
December 5 - 12
This is a wonderful way to serve on a mission project right here in our church. Any talent or time you can share makes a difference in changing the lives of our guests and helps them become self-sufficient. Together we can make a difference - one family at a time. If you would like to volunteer to help, please contact Susan Schumpert, 687-4000.

Men’s Monday Night Basketball
Join us for “Geezer Ball” on Monday nights from 8:30 until 10:00 in the church gym. The primary goals for us forty-year olds (and over, some are way over) are: a little socialization, a little exercise, and to avoid a trip to the hospital. Hope to see you there!

Guitar Ensemble
Have you ever wanted to play guitar, but never made any real progress with the instrument? Do you play guitar now, but only as a soloist? Read on! We are considering starting a guitar ensemble here at FCUMC. The music would be hymns and songs in a fairly classical style, with each guitarist playing a written-out part. If you don't read music, don't worry! If you would like to know more about this ensemble, please contact Andrew Duncan at aduncan@fountaincityumc.org or 689-5175 ext. 108.

Annual Church Rummage Sale
Saturday, May 1, 8:30 - 2:00 p.m.
45 Days and counting!
Donations needed! 100% of money goes to missions. For more information, contact Julie Knoefel, 405-7251.

Marriage Retreat Update
Marriage Retreat for March 19 & 20 has been cancelled.

Wells for Sudan
May 27, 2010
The Wells for Sudan Golf tournament is an extension of the “Jacob’s Well” project and will provide resources for additional wells. This will be a unique event in that individuals and churches have underwritten all expenses for the tournament. Every dollar given for team fees and “hole sponsors” will go for wells in Sudan.  The children and people of Sudan are waiting for the “living water” these wells represent. Bishop James Swanson is the tournament host. Golfers and “non-golfers” alike are invited to help make this hope come to pass.
