Pastor's Message
By now, you have probably heard that we are having a pastoral change in June. Don is moving to Weber City, VA, and Daniel Ogle is coming from the Johnson City district.
As hard as this pastoral change will be on our congregation, it is not the end of Fountain City United Methodist Church as we know it. As the pastors have said before, it is not about us! It is about God working through the laity to make continued ministry happen.
So yes, Don will be leaving and Daniel will be coming but there is a lot of ministry that will continue to happen. Our children's ministry is preparing for over 300 children that will be involved in our Vacation Bible School June 20-24. Our youth ministry is gearing up for a summer-load of activities that will leave the youth energized and the youth workers ready for a nap. We have six mission trips that are scheduled between now and August and our missions committee is working hard to schedule hands-on projects for each month this summer.
Of course, we will continue to offer three engaging and dynamic worship services each Sunday morning. As you can see, the pastors may look different but the ministry will continue! My prayer is that we will continue to look for ways that we can grow in our relationship with God and then in turn, be of service to the world around us. I'm glad that we are on that journey together!
