Library
Our church library is a quiet Christian-based reading room where church members can read, reflect, research, or write. Our collection consists of a variety of Bibles, research books, Methodist history, fiction, and biographies.
We also have a collection of back issues of the church bulletins as well as many church directories; however, these items need to remain in the library.
Books in the main library may be checked out for a two-week period. No fines are applied. We use the Dewey decimal system when shelving our books–the same as used in local public libraries and most educational institutions.
Our library has been built - and continues to grow - as a result of member donations. Many people place books in the library in memory or honor of a loved one.
Donor guidelines:
- Before leaving books in the library, please contact any member of the Library Committee for instructions
- Books published after 1990 are preferred, unless it is considered a classic
- We welcome church cookbooks from around the region or the country, but because of space constraints general cookbooks are not needed
- Contemporary Christian fiction is always popular
- Books with highlighted text, underlines, or other marks are not acceptable, nor are workbooks
Books that we cannot use because of duplications or other reasons are carefully and thoughtfully sorted by the committee members and sent to other Christian venues.
Library Committee members for 2008 are: Patti Ball, Chair, Martha Koho, Dottie Loy, Julie Martin-Loveday, Sherry Ball, Anna Mays, Anne Nichols. Phone numbers are available through the church office.
