Our Church Doing What It Does Best

Posted on August 26th, 2008

The shooting and death of a Central High School student leaves us in a state of shock and disbelief. We grieve with this entire community and are especially concerned for the well being of the families of the victim, the suspect, and the entire student body, faculty, and staff of Central High School. The staff of the church is ready to offer help as we all put forth the emotional and spiritual support needed for healing. Download helps related to talking with youth and children about this tragedy.

No church can ever plan to be prepared for such a tragic event. Even so, on August 21st the staff and volunteers of our church were quick to respond, provide care, and put together a meaningful time of prayer and hope in the midst of the grief and shock. Our church does well in the midst of crisis and pain because of our collective drive to be a place with open hearts, open minds, and open doors. May God bless us with the grace and love to always be a place that strives to do good, do no harm, and encourages others and ourselves to stay in love with God.
